“Pakistan and India recently attended the SCO summit for the first time since becoming full members of the organization last year,” noted Muhammed Zubair Uddin, senior news reporter for Pakistan Television Corporation, at the Media Center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Qingdao, China. “We consider this platform a great opportunity to settle every regional issue.”

Over the 17 years since its inception, the SCO has played a key role in maintaining regional stability and promoting common prosperity. In this context, the Qingdao summit, held on June 9 and 10, drew worldwide attention.

The leaders of many countries across the Eurasian continent were gathering in Qingdao to brainstorm solutions to build a more rational world order through dialogue and partnership.

“Pakistan supports the role of big countries like China and Russia in solving regional issues to forge a better neighborhood,” Uddin said.

He noted that many countries want to learn how China accomplished so much, and China is indeed sharing its prosperity with others. In fact, Pakistan and China are already working on several development projects under the Belt and Road Initiative such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

When commenting on Chinese President Xi Jinping’s speech at the summit, Uddin noted that everybody would like President Xi to further develop more valuable initiatives to fuel brighter prospects for the world.
