HK trade delegation visits Quzhou
A delegation of entrepreneurs and investors from Hong Kong visited Quzhou, Zhejiang province, from Nov. 21-22 to explore investment opportunities and strengthen economic ties.
The two-day trip was organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Quzhou Committee. The delegation visited industrial parks and leading enterprises in the eastern Chinese city, learning about the city's economic and industrial infrastructure, as well as its investment environment and policy framework.
The delegation head Terence Lau, who is also the director of the Zhejiang Liaison Unit of the HKSAR government, said Quzhou and Hong Kong are complimentary in terms of economic structure, adding that there is a prospect for Quzhou and Hong Kong to cooperate in sectors such as rail transportation and healthcare.
In recent years, trade between Quzhou and Hong Kong has enjoyed steady growth. In the first 10 months of 2024, trade between them reached 2.17 billion yuan (about $300 million), more than doubling from the same period of last year.
In May, a Quzhou delegation visited Hong Kong for investment and trade promotion, fostering connection and collaboration between the regions.
