The West Campus of Union Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology is listed as a designated hospital for treating patients with severe symptoms of novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19). According to Zhang Yu, Party Secretary of the Union Hospital, they are conducting treatment with the help of 17 medical teams from places including Beijing, Heilongjiang, and Guangzhou.
To facilitate treatment of COVID-19 patients, the hospital reconstructed its wards, which are divided into the contaminated zone, the buffer zone and the clean zone, while strictly observing the requirements for treatment of infectious diseases. In order to fully equip medical workers, the hospital has specially set up a logistics support team to arrange for protective clothing, ventilators, oxygen supply, catering, and accommodation and transportation for medical teams from other regions, so that medical workers have adequate supply of “ammunition” in the battle against the epidemic.

February 29, 2020: Ms. Fu, 97, is cured and discharged from the West Campus of Union Hospital. She happily gives a thumbs up to medical workers before her departure.
At present, direly needed medical equipment and protective supplies are mainly allocated by the government. Some are from other departments of the hospital. Meanwhile, there is a small portion donated by others directly to the hospital. The supply is enough for normal clinical operation.
