Discussing the challenges and opportunities presented by digital transformation and artificial intelligence, Has acknowledged that while these advancements bring unprecedented opportunities, they also pose significant challenges, including the spread of fake news and disinformation. "As responsible media professionals, we must navigate these waters with unwavering integrity," he urged, stressing the need for ethical journalism and rigorous fact-checking.
He also addressed the importance of media literacy in empowering informed audiences. He shared Cambodia's "Say No to Fake News" campaign, aimed at educating the public about discerning credible sources.
Has emphasized the diplomatic role of media in shaping perceptions and nurturing understanding between nations, suggesting joint productions, cultural exchanges, and collaborative storytelling initiatives to deepen connections between ASEAN countries and China.
"Media plays a vital diplomatic role, shaping perceptions and fostering understanding," he said. "Let us build bridges that withstand geopolitical currents, promoting mutual understanding and goodwill."
He called for innovation and collaboration in the media sector, encouraging new technologies like virtual reality and data journalism to drive progress while maintaining a commitment to accuracy and integrity. "Together, we can shape the future of media, adapting to evolving audience preferences while maintaining our commitment to accuracy and integrity," he stated.
Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, such as those in rural areas and minority groups. "Media should amplify voices that often go unheard," he said. "In doing so, we contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate media landscape, fostering empathy and understanding."
Has urged participants to engage actively in the forum's sessions and forge lasting partnerships, concluding, "Our collective efforts will determine the trajectory of ASEAN-China media cooperation. Let us embrace amity, innovation, and the shared future we envision."
