The 3rd WPF Concludes in Shanghai

The 3rd World Philanthropy Forum (WPF) concluded with fruitful achievements in Shanghai on September 6, 2018.

The forum released the International Personnel Training Plan, established the Academic Committee of WPF, launched the WPF Index Research, and introduced the Committee of Resource Partners of WPF and the Plan of Annual Meeting of Cooperation Mechanism of Chinese Social Work.

During the forum, more than 300 government officials, businesspeople, academicians, social activists and media workers discussed poverty eradication, public health and well-being, high-quality education, sustainable cities and communities, and the partnerships helping achieve the UN’s sustainable development goals.

The forum also held the Philanthropy Night banquet themed on “With Philanthropy, With World”, the meeting for the Academic Committee of WPF and the annual meeting of Collaboration Network for Philanthropy and Social Services.

The WPF’s 2019 annual meeting, to be held in Hong Kong, has “Charitable Bay Area, Better Life” as its theme, said Deng Lan, deputy secretary general of the China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development.

The forum, launched in 2016, is co-hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
